I don’t understand. What am I doing wrong?
I’m 14 years old and concerned about my weight. I’m not skinny, but I’m not obese. I’m 130lbs and my height is 5′ 5″. I have muscular definition mostly in my legs. I’m quite active. Yoga, competitive figure skating, tennis, rollerblading, volleyball and I visit the gym about 3 times a week. However, I feel I’m slightly overweight. I have type 1 diabetes, so I eat properly and I follow Canada’s food guide. I measure all my portions, count my carbohydrates, sugars and calories. Why do I continue to gain weight? I’m fairly wide… I don’t understand.
having diabetes doesn’t count as a dissability for me. I can do what anyone else can do in my own way, as long as I am careful. I never let my disease hold me back.
Please keep in mind that I am only 14. I am not looking to buy any products either.
Girl, you are fine. Your body has a lot of changes to go through the in the next four years. You will get taller and develop differently. Your leg bones will even change and become longer. You’re still growing so naturally you will gain weight. You can’t develop breasts, grow taller, or become an adult without gaining weight. You’re active and healthy so stop worrying about it.
We don’t all have the same bodies, thankfully! Be happy that you are so healthy and strong. Know that you are an inspiration to others around you. Know that there are people who are envious of you!
